Our first baseball game together--the kids were great! Soy loved it! The game was a little boring but it was fun to be there. The stadium was at an all time high because Danny Ramirez from the Dodgers was playing that night.

Soy and London usually get along pretty well but occasionally London gets a dent on her head from Soy's sippy cup or sword.

Biosphere in Tucson

We went to the Biosphere while we were in Tucson....not a good tour for little ones but it was interesting. They do a bunch of experiments with weather changes there. Joel really likes all that science stuff...

Joel's First Day on the Job!

Well being a mother sure has its ups and downs. I have been kinda down lately but I’m headed up! Thank goodness for husbands, mothers, friends, and prayers! And of course cute kids. We have been having a lot of fun in Tucson, AZ. Sawyer loves the ostrich farm and children’s museum. London just likes attention! Which is pretty easy to give most of the time.

And the Potty Training Goes On...
Well I have had my share of outbursts during Soy’s potty training but tonight he took off his underwear and his pants by himself and came and got me and said “toilet!” So I think we are making major progress. Still no poo-poo in the potty but I think it will come.
I am really starting to enjoy being home with the kids though. I love being with them and I hate it when we are apart. It’s even kinda sad when they are asleep. But just kind of. I’m so ready for a break by the end of the day. They are so adorable and Soy is so entertaining and infuriating at times....he pulled down two blinds today! and pooped twice in his underwear! But he also kissed and hugged me and rode around on my back and played swords with me. We went shopping and got him some new McQueen clothes and some cool shades. He loves to touch everything! I am pretty sure he is a sensory learner.
I hate being in debt. We were so ignorant. Still are I’m sure. But wow is it binding. It is so easy to get into but amazingly hard to get out of.

Well I thought I had seen tough days before with Soy....We started...or should I say I started (sorry you couldn’t be more involved Joel- but thanks for going to work!) to potty train Soy on Monday. I got tips from my friend Colette in Utah who has trained 5 kids and swears by this method. So I took his pants off and encouraged a lot of fluids and just let him go. Day 1 He had no idea when he was peeing and he didn’t care where (I’m pretty sure he pee’d on my arm on purpose). Day 2 he still didn’t really care where but he had a better idea what was going on and he pee’d in the potty once or twice and pooped on the floor (thanks for the warning Soy!) Day 3 He peed 3-4 times in the potty and I kept him in the kitchen for most of the day because I was sick of cleaning up pee off of the carpet. He pooped on the floor again (again thanks for the warning!) This time it wasn’t all on the carpet-- just half of it. Day 4 He peed over 15 times and only had 3 accidents--two of which were on the kitchen floor! Whoo hoo! He pooped on the floor again but it was all on the kitchen floor--no biggie---(but again no warning!) So it is getting better but having to watch him 24/7 and remind him ever y 15-30 minutes to use the potty and do the potty victory dance every time he peed in the potty and holding London and forcing fluids and cleaning up accidents can take a lot out of a woman. I can’t say I handled it too well but I’m still here and I want to try harder tomorrow. Does that count for something?

The kids are loving the pool. London usually takes a nap while we are down there. Soy doesn’t really get in the water because the pool is too cold and the hot tub is too hot but he loves throwing things in and kicking his legs around on the steps. London loves being in the water though! Not too cold for her.

I have the best job! But it isn’t easy. It sounds all fun and games---going to the pool, eating popsicles, going for walks--but all the stuff in between can wear on you pretty fast. I’ve decided the Lord wants me to learn charity, especially the part about “is not easily provoked”. I never realized how provoking a two year old could be. (He’s provoking me even now--I put him to bed at nine and he is still getting out of bed....and its 1030) He dipped my cell phone in his cup of water today! It’s so hard to know how and what to discipline him for....some things are obvious of course. I just don’t want to screw him up for life! It’s a good thing I have Joel to balance him out. I’m starting to realize the importance of a mother and a father in the home. But despite his terrible two-ish-ness he still melts my hearts frequently throughout the day. He has got the sweetest grin and is constantly babbling or singing to himself. He has the potential of being obedient and usually succeeds after several prompts. We are in Arizona right now and he loves going to the pool at our complex. It is pretty hot here but it is really nice--I love the cacti and palm trees! Now London on the other hand.....she is either just so sweet and content or wailing at the top of her lungs like she is about to lose a limb. She really really loves her soothie and to be held but she is learning to sit up and I hope that will help her not be so needy. I don’t know where she gets that from! But she is such a blue eyed dimpled beauty! I really don’t think they make kids any cuter than mine.

Joel had a cat following him today while knocking doors and Joel being the tender hearted man that he is (He let a hobo free in our backyard for pete’s sake!) had to bring it home so it wouldn’t die from heat stroke. So now I have 2 kids and 2 cats at my feet. It might get some getting used to and I have scratches all over my limbs from the playful little guy. There is a part of me that wants someone to call and claim him from the posters Joel put up but Sawyer loves playing with him and London likes him too. So I guess I’ll deal with him.
