Friday Nights

One of my favorite days of the week is Friday because that is the day I get to hang out with my new best friend and her kids all night. We started this because both of our husbands are in the same sound design program and go to school on the same nights. We switch houses every week and take turns making dinner. I love that tonight we had leftovers! Cornbeef and cabbage from St Paddy's day, pork and garlic mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, rice, and green pancakes. It's very low stress and we get along so well. Plus our kids have fun together-- Bonus! Tonight after dinner, Annie had to do some grocery shopping for a Relief Society brunch in the morning so I watched the kids and then when she got home we put together 72 hour kits (which we had went shopping for together the night before) and watched Gilmore Girls. (She has me hooked--it is her favorite series--she re-watches every year!) I love it. And she is always doing me favors and understands me and it's just great. I feel so lucky to have her in my life at this specific time.

Burnout

I am in the real working world now working 5 eight hour days a week. It is so lame. Who thought of that kind of schedule? We should only work 4 days out of the week at most. I am taking alot of training and education classes for my orientation and most of the time we are sitting and listening to lectures. I think my brain is going to dry up and crumble like fine dust. I have three more days to go this week....can it be true? I can't wait til 12 hour shifts! And then I am sure I will complain about them.....just venting. I am so grateful I have a job and even better one that I enjoy. I am learning alot but it's almost too much all at once without hands on application. But it will all click together eventually. I think with the new job and the newness of California and all that comes with it has put my brain and other vital organs in shock. However, I really like it here and feel like its going to be home for a while.

Can you Tell Me?

Sawyer randomly asked Joel the other day "Can you tell me about Jesus Christ?" He is getting so smart! And just a couple days before I was telling him about Jesus and he said "Jesus wants to hug me".

Sawyer's Awesome Cake

Sawyer is so in to pirates right now so he had a Pirate themed birthday party. It was his first one with friends and we passed out invitations and he loved it. They were so cute too! I didn't take a picture--drats. The party was today and it was chaotic but fun. The cake turned out pretty good. I wish I was amazing at it so I could make a living at it because I really enjoy making them.

Everybody Wants to Be a Cat

Soy and his girlfriends on Saturday night. I was the dog and they were the cats. Who needs Disneyland? They were having so much fun.

I hope they Call Me on A Mission

We have been able to have the missionaries over quite a bit in our new ward so Sawyer is enjoying playing with them and getting to know them. It's been really nice to be more involved with the missionaries and its a nice reminder to do my part.

Bad Hair Day

AFTER
BEFORE

I had the stuff out to cut Joel's hair and I thought "Hey! I'll cut Soy's hair while I'm at it, he's sitting down (on the toilet). It will only take a couple minutes" Well this is what happened (see above). And I had to shave it all off today (see After photo above). I will probably find a better place and time next time.....better lighting, better seating, better beautician. Poor Soy.
