Sawyer's Awesome Cake

Sawyer is so in to pirates right now so he had a Pirate themed birthday party. It was his first one with friends and we passed out invitations and he loved it. They were so cute too! I didn't take a picture--drats. The party was today and it was chaotic but fun. The cake turned out pretty good. I wish I was amazing at it so I could make a living at it because I really enjoy making them.

Everybody Wants to Be a Cat

Soy and his girlfriends on Saturday night. I was the dog and they were the cats. Who needs Disneyland? They were having so much fun.

I hope they Call Me on A Mission

We have been able to have the missionaries over quite a bit in our new ward so Sawyer is enjoying playing with them and getting to know them. It's been really nice to be more involved with the missionaries and its a nice reminder to do my part.

Bad Hair Day

AFTER
BEFORE

I had the stuff out to cut Joel's hair and I thought "Hey! I'll cut Soy's hair while I'm at it, he's sitting down (on the toilet). It will only take a couple minutes" Well this is what happened (see above). And I had to shave it all off today (see After photo above). I will probably find a better place and time next time.....better lighting, better seating, better beautician. Poor Soy.

I like hugs

I hugged Soy today and he told me "Mom I like hugs and you like hugs." I need to write more things down that he says --they are so darn cute. He calls any little kid he sees his "friend" or his "friends". He was playing with a little boy the other day at an office we were at and his mother told him that it was time to go and Soy said to her "hey! He is my friend" like Back off Lady. And then when we told him it was time to go he said "I'm reading my book. It's my life." I love when he uses the word "stuff" and "things". And my favorite is how he has started calling me "mothur". I feel like I need to be recording him all the time. Especially the tantrums so I can tell him later---"I hope you have a son just like you!"

Honey Pot

Just like Pooh Bear with a honey pot Londy is going for the last drop.

Sunny California

So I am trying to get as much fun in as possible without spending money (besides gas money) before I start my job next Tuesday. So we have been checking out the local sites here. We went to La Brea Tar Pits by the George Page Museum and saw some cool fossils and excavation projects. It was in LA next to an art museum and it had some really neat sculptures along the walkways. Then we went to some different local parks and Soy made many friends and collected "swords" aka sticks. One night we checked out Griffith Observatory--which was awesome and it's only 15 minutes away from our house! It is a really nice observatory free to the public--okay for little kids but even better for a date night. We had a beach day at Seal Beach in Orange County. Sawyer was a little hesitant at first probably because of the big waves and all of the noise they made but warmed up after awhile when Joel started making a game out of running from the waves. The seagulls attacked our picnic and tried to destroy our picnic basket. They managed to poke a few holes through some sandwiches and the applesauce containers before we secured our basket. London is not at all sure about the water. She likes to sit in my lap or at least where she can touch me. We got to the beach in 45 minutes and it took us an 1 1/2 hrs to get home....but its better than no beach! We will definitely be going often. Mostly so London can wear her adorable bucket hat and beachwear!
